I've been thinking so much lately about how I can't watch anything suspenseful anymore. I used to love thrillers - although I'd never been a horror fan. I think the last year has made me feel like I don't need any additional anxious add ons. I often find myself in the kitchen if a tv show gets too intense, so I can hear but not see. I am definitely not the person you should sneak up on or pull a prank on. I will literally scream my head off. I have been known to scream out loud in theaters and even - seriously - startle myself! As in, I don't even realize I am the one who screamed. I could make the whole power plant work in Monsters Inc.
During this season, I am reminded of 2 Timothy 1:7 - For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. I'd love to channel all that "scream energy" I have into something a lot more productive. So, just like in Monsters Inc. I am trying to create more power from laughter than screams. Hence our next big event - Boos You Can Use. Today is the last day to sign up for our fall purpose party. We will have a great time together while giving back to others - I would love to see you there. Plan to laugh, listen to music, and do good deeds. Can you join us? If so, be sure to register today!
